Christmas' fair

Last Saturday we went to a Christmas' fair, close to Eskilstuna. The trip should be done in 30 minutes and we did it in 1 hour.... so lost we were.
I bought this thing to put between the pan and the cover.... Sorry, I don't know the word even in Portuguese.....

It is a moose, typical animal from Sweden.

Isn't it so cute... graceful!!! I love to find something different!!!!

Favelas in Rio de Janeiro

Being a Brazilian I have to say: I'm ashame about another foreign had died in Rio de Janeiro, but like a Brazilian, I think I have sufficient knowledge about this subject, and I can say with all words.

If you don't know where are you going in Rio, be careful, specially if you don't have a local resident with you. Don't trust anybody and take the right cab. Even being a Brazilian I think 10 times before going there.
Rio de Janeiro is a wonderful city but drugs' problems and bad polititians are making the city hell.

I'm really angry when I read in international magazines about foreign people visiting the favelas. Well, if you would like to visit or if you've already visited it, you are contributing with all of these. When people visit there, anything wrong happens, of course but, you pay, you give money to this, you are supporting... I can't understand why people like to see this kind of situation!!!! Go to many other beautiful places in Rio, to Iguazu Falls, to Curitiba and the north/northeast of Brazil, but favelas????? Come on !!! Is Funk nice? Are you sure? Sometimes here in Sweden, I hear this kind of music, and to me it is disgusting, specially if you understand what they are saying in the "lyrics".

There are good people living in favelas and the only reason they live there is because they don't have another alternative in life, so poor they are.

I've been living in Sweden for almost 2 years. What WE love here is the physical feeling, mental perception about peace, security, although anybody is not completely safe anywhere nowadays. Well, we have to include the respect for each other (what unfortunately I don't see it too much in Brazil).

I simply love all of them and I always buy a new one, I can't resist!!!! And you, what kind of addiction do you have?

Did you know the gender of your baby ?

We have to Swedes friends that had babies this week. Weeks ago I asked them if it was a boy or a girl and they didn't know.

So my Brazilian friends, you can survive 9 months without knowing the gender of your baby. But I ask myself: If we have the technology for doing that, why don't we do it? If you know the answer, please tell me, because my friends didn't convinced me with their explanations.

If you ask a pregnant woman in Brazil if she will have a boy or a girl, she will know the answer maybe in the forth month.

I'm not judging what is better, just saying, different cultures.

Take your shoes off, please!

Like oriental costumes, Swedes take their shoes off when arrive home.

That is funny! When we have some Brazilian guests and those who don't know about this Swedish habit, get into panic... might you image why.... hole in the socks .... Funny, but only if you are in the other side looking to their faces... After that, you say don't worry if you have a small or a big hole in your socks, nobody cares and this is the way that works here... Some of them hesitate to do, and then you need to encorage saying, It's because we don't have anybody to help us with the house, like in Brazil, where we have our (blessed) housekeepers, so please make my life easier! After that, they can't say no....

What I learned with Swedes: when you visit someone, try to use black socks... they won't be shame if anything is wrong with the floor.

Brazilian Rice

When our friends come to visit us and try the Brazilian rice, they immediately love it! The difference is because we spice the rice. As our Swedish teacher asked me how to prepare the Brazilian rice, I would like to share the recept with you.
Easy, no secrets.

¤ 1/4 onion sliced
¤ If you want you can use a small clove of garlic (sliced or squashed)
¤ Salt
¤ For 1 cup of rice, 2 cups of water
¤ Olive Oil

¤¤ Fry the onion (and the garlic) in olive oil until they get soft
¤¤ Include the rice and the salt
¤¤ Fry for 15 seconds mixing the rice
¤¤ Include the water and cover the pan
¤¤ Cook in a lower fire mixing 1 or 2 times until it be - almost - dry. Leave it for 15 minutes before to serve up a meal.

Enjoy it!

Making an appointment to wash clothes

That's how it's works here in Sweden. I don't know if in your country is the same, but in Brazil buildings don't have a communitarian laudry.
Here, they are usually in the basement, and every laundry has a papper or a padlock that you set the chosen free day.

I have my own laudry inside my bathroom, what makes my life easier. It is more commom to have your own laundry if you live in a house.

Friendship

How nice is to have a good friend. Today is my best friend's birthday. We are friends for almost 25 years. Last April I went to America to visit her. The last time we met each other it was 10 years ago... Efter that, we didn't have chance to meet again.
Efter all these years we still maintain a conversation, I mean, we have a lot of things in common, we can stay hours and hours on the phone and we still have a good subject to talk and more, we exchange emails at least 3 times a week.
Our conversation on the phone is not less than 2 hours, and she always has the ultimate product for our curly hair.

Sausage

Sausage in Sweden is called Korv. Here, you can find a lot of kinds of them, and comparing with Brazilias' sausages, they don't have that much grease. Our friends that have already lived in Brazil prefer ours, but I don't believe they are right.
The most popular is Falukorv and Prinskorv. The last one is common during Christmas.
Even our Feijoada with Swedish ingredientes is so good and tasteful like the original one.
There is so many diversity and tastes...

Drizzle Rain

It's raining today, and as I love to see the rain through the window, I went to the balcony and then I saw a mother walking with her baby.
That makes me think about my excuses to do not practice outdoor exercises (excluding summer) it´s because it blows too much or simply because it´s raining (or almost).
Mothers here put their babies in the baby byggy and go for a walk, 1 or 2 hours every day, and this makes them go back to a good shape quickly.
That´s increadible for us (Brazilians) that learned to do not go out without an umbrella, or even have this good mood to do such activity outdoors when the weather is not so good. That´s because there is no excuse to go out here, otherwise they will get stuck home most time of the year.
Kids are sheltered from the rain and let´s go for a walk.

Christmas' Decoration

Christimas's ornaments are arriving in the stores, and if you want to prepared the house for the date, you must have too much money. Decoration includes since a simple Santa Claus until furniture or curtains. Yes, they inspire you to do this, and since everything is really beautiful, you don't resist and the damage is done.
Maybe you are asking yourself about changing curtains. Yes, they also do that. Maybe this is the only thing I'll never waste my money. Too much work for so short period.
One tip, the windows' decoration will be much more beautiful this year.

Crayfish or Kräftor

It is common in Sweden to eat Crayfish, and the dish includes his head and "legs". - By the way, I don't think we eat Crayfish in Brazil. The Swedes like so much Crayfish that they even make a party to eat them and August is the Crayfish Month. Special napkins and birthday hats with Crayfish drawing are used. Here is, what we ate, and the recept is so simple, just cook them until be red and then you must include beer, little sugar, salt and dill.

Brazilian Singer

Some weeks ago, a friend of mine told me about a Brazilian singer called Céu. He told me that her voice and the melody are nice, and according to him, she is a sucess in the UK. I said I´ve never heard about her. When I got home, I went to wikipedia and then youtube to know who is she!!! How is it possible, a Swede talking to me about a Brazilian singer? What a shame! (My excuse is because she got famous first in Europe).
I asked my friends in Brazil about her. Nobody knows... (ok, most of them are not interested in this kind of music), but even in Fnac site, I could not find her CD at the first moment, however, after 2 weeks, there it was......

But it is easy to find it in iTunes Store.

Time is coming

Time is coming. Daylights are getting shorter and shorter. Sunrise (if I can say in this way - sometimes sun never appears) 8:30 and the sunset will be around 15:00 - by the end of November. Tough period for most of the Swedes.

When you get out in the dark, you´ll probably use a reflector, the easy way that someone can see you.

At all windows you can find a light from lamps... candles on the table. Don´t you think that these make everything more romantic, beautiful... cozy? I think so!

Cooking Swedish Dishes

One of the best things that I have learned in Sweden is cooking (I´m much better cooking Swedish dishes than speaking Swedish).
Well, I didn't use to cook in Brazil, so many facilities that makes me lazy, but here, at the first moment I could not afford going to restaurants so many times like in Brazil, and of course the pepper used here is too much for me.
So, I started cooking Brazilian dishes at the first moment, and more and more I became interested to learn how to cook and then I bought some of Swedish books for cooking and since then, I´ve been cooking some of recepts.

What is really interesting in Swedish dishes:
1. The recept is basicaly easy.
2. They love fett food.

And this is my first book that a friend gave to me, and there are really good recepts. Would you like to try? Kanelbullar, is one of the best for coffee break.

Tanto tempo sem postar nada...... Precisava me acalmar para não falar o que realmente não gosto e me incomoda nesse país. Mas depois de quase 6 meses a história se repete, e então fica difícil não falar.

O que fazer quando se tem um cachorro que não consegue ser curado de uma gastrite e inflamacao intestinal em um país considerado de PRIMEIRO MUNDO????..... Nada...... estamos a 1 ano exatamente da primeira consulta e a 2 meses tratando com a vet do Brasil, à distância, porque nenhum veterinário daqui foi capaz de receitar o remédio correto. O último que receitaram por 4 meses, e hoje, para a minha tristeza voltaram a receitar, se chama Predinosolon (corticóide) foi provado na tese de doutarado na vet do Brasil que ele destrói o sistema gastro intestinal quando utilizado por muito tempo, e foi por isso que há dois meses atrás a nossa pequena teve hemorragia e quase morreu.

Hoje pensei que teria o resultado do exame de fezes para saber qual bactéria ela tem no intestino que causa a inflamacao e ser tratada, e a resposta dos vets daqui é que preciso solicitar para qual bacteria desejo encontrar. 2 semanas esperando um resultado...só foi realizado o de parasitas... É lógico que não tem parasitas, afinal ela toma remédio para parasitas de 4 em 4 meses.................... :(..........É brincadeira, parece piada...... mas infelizmente não é..... é sério demais.......

Pannacotta de baunilha / Vaniljpannacotta

Essa sobremesa aqui é MUITO, mas muito BOA.... não é aquele doce que dói até a alma. É na medida certa... e fácil de  fazer....  O vispgrädd é o nosso creme de leite, mas aqui achamos muitos deles com quantidade de gordura diferente....

ingredientes em sueco e em português

1 st vaniljstång
1 dl gelésocker
3 dl vispgrädd (se quiser saber o que é, tenho um post que fala sobre fat food )
jordgubbar eller andra bär

1 fava de baunilha
acúcar
creme de leite
morangos ou framboesa

*** ver OBS

Cortar a baunilha e tirar as sementinhas de dentro. Colocar o creme de leite, o acúcar, a baunilha e deixar cozinhar por 1 minuto. Colocar em porcões e levar para gelar. Quando estiver pronto, colocar os morangos em cima. Framboesa fica muito mais gostoso......

OBS... Acho q na receita brasileira, precisa colocar um pacotinho de gelatina incolor... porque eu acho que na gelésocker (um tipo de acúcar para doces) deve ter gelatina...

Imposto

Aqui na Suécia se paga tanto imposto quanto no Brasil. Existe um imposto bem interessante, o imposto de televisão. Se o cidadão deseja assistir televisão, ele deve pagar cerca de 2.000 koroas ao ano para ter o direito, e esse imposto é pago a cada 3 meses.

Todo esse dinheiro vai para dois canais de televisão que são estatais e para 4 de rádio.

Qualquer outro canal deve ser pago como extra para as empresas especializadas.

De sueco para suecos

Kent é uma banda de rock sueca e que por coincidência os integrantes são de Eskilstuna, cidade onde moramos. Ontem eles fizeram um show aqui e então fomos assistir.

Alem da organizacão, algumas outras coisas nos chamaram a atencão:

O show aconteceu em um ginásio fechado. Os ingressos esgotaram 7 minutos após comecarem a serem vendidos em dezembro de 2007, e não foram vendidos mais do que o ginásio comporta considerando a seguranca. Não havia mais do que 2.500 pessoas ali. Os que estavam na pista tinham espaco suficiente ao redor e as pessoas que estavam sentadas, assistiram ao show sentadas. Para um show de rock, é interessante o público ficar sentado.

Havia o guarda-casacos que poderia ser utilizado após pagar uma taxa de 20 coroas, e na saída não houve empurra-empurra e nem fura fila para pegá-los. Todos esperavam a sua vez.

90% do público estava com protetor de ouvido.

Como aqui é proibido fumar em lugares fechados, ninguém fumou, mesmo sabendo que o controle dentro de um ginásio para isso é quase que impossível de se ter, a diferenca é que eles respeitam e seguem as regras.

Não havia nenhum seguranca revistando as pessoas que entravam.

O show estava previsto para comecar às 8:00 e 8:30 a banda entrou no palco. 10:30 todos já estavam indo embora.

Na Irlanda, assistimos a um concerto de outra banda e também ficamos impressionados com a organizacão e principalmente do modo como o público se comporta, e aí é muito fácil de entender o porquê que em alguns lugares tudo acaba em confusão.

Para conhecer.... vai a FF. Se quiser conhecer mais tem a Kärleken väntar, Palace & Main, Musik non stop, Generation Ex, Columbus, Dom Andra e a Ingenting que são muito boas também...Os vídeos....loucos......

Os direitos de cada idade

* A partir de 0 e até completar 16 anos anos cada crianca aqui na Suécia recebe uma contribuicão do governo para a sua criacão.

* 7 anos: A crianca inicia a fase escolar e essa é obrigatória até os 15 anos. Equivale ao ensino fundamental.

*15 anos:
Pode dirigir moto. Fica entendido que é uma moto de porte pequeno;
Sexo legalmente permitido;
Responde legalmente por suas acões;
Pode assistir filmes proibidos para "menores";

*16 anos:
A crianca pode parar de estudar;
Acaba a contribuicão do governo;
Pode comecar a trabalhar;
Pode abrir empresa;
Se continuar o escola - o ginásio, e nesse caso volta a receber uma ajuda do governo para estudar.

* 18 anos:
Maioridade;
Pode fazer a prova escrita para dirigir automóvel;
Pode se casar;
Pode fazer empréstimo;
Pode votar;
Pode comprar cigarro, vinho e cerveja de 4,5% alcool nos restaurantes;

* 20 anos
Comprar cerveja com 4,5% de alcool, vinho ou qualquer outra bebida alcóolica no ¤ Systembolaget.
¤ Systembolaget é o único estabelecimento comercial na Suécia que vende bebida alcóolica. Tem seu horário de funcionamento mais ou menos assim: durante a semana das 10 às 18:00 e sábado e domingo das 11:00 às 15:00 ou 16:00. Os supermercados vendem cerveja sem álcool ou com até 3,5% de álcool.
Acaba assistência gratuita de dentista.

*25 anos:
Pode adotar crianca;

*65 anos:
De um modo geral é quando o cidadão se aposenta, embora isso possa acontecer um pouco mais cedo ou mais tarde.

Sportlov

Essa semana estou sem aulas devido ao Sportlov que acontece na Suécia.

O Sportlov - Feriado do Esporte - é uma tradicão sueca que se iniciou por volta de 1940 e que acontece nos meses de fevereiro/marco. No início o sportlov era para salvar os custos de aquecimentos nas escolas (racionamento) e esse feriado se chamava kokslov (koks - tipo carvão). Com o passar dos anos mais e mais pessoas comecaram a fazer esportes de inverno durante esse período e então o feriado passou a se chamar Sportlov (lov - feriado).

O feriado acontece dependendo da cidade onde se mora. No total são 5 semanas. A semana 8 que é essa, Eskilstuna é uma das cidades em que se comemora. As escolas de ensino fundamental e o ginásio tem seu calendário e a tradicão é de que muitas famílias viajam para praticar esportes de inverno.

Bem, essa é a tradicão, mas de acordo com uma pesquisa em um jornal, a maioria tem ficado em casa.....

Dá para acreditar?

Por várias vezes eu citei sobre a honestidade dos suecos porque já tivemos algumas experiências. Eles agem entre si com tanta honestidade que nós brasileiros nos espantamos com algumas dessas atitudes, porque tenho certeza que hoje em dia nós brasileiros não acreditamos uns nos outros porque temos experiências suficiente na malandragem e na falta de honestidade de alguns de nossos compatriotas.

Há alguns dias atrás recebi uma multa de 300 coroas por ter parado em um lugar não permitido. Na realidade eu pago mensalmente esse local para poder estacionar e não sabia que em determinado lugar somente poderiam estacionar carros autorizados. Hoje voltando no local vi que havia um carro parado e que existia a faixa. Meu marido ligou para explicar sobre esse fato e então o "dono" da vaga nos explicou tudo isso acima e notou que não foi proposital o que fizemos. Bem, ele simplesmente acreditou no que falamos e pediu que esquecessemos da multa....

Talvez esse fato para alguns não signifique tanto, então contarei outro fato.

Fui ao supermercado e basicamente comprei frutas e legumes. Quando cheguei em casa percebi que a conta tinha sido alta demais (300 coroas) para esse tipo de compra. Fui checar a nota e vi que havia um valor de 210 koroas que se referia a carne. Não havia comprado carne naquele dia. Colocamos todas as compras de volta na sacola e retornamos ao supermercado e conversamos com a atendente. Ela simplesmente perguntou, vcs não compraram carne? Dissemos que não... Ela fez o registro e nos devolveu o dinheiro.

Isso tudo demonstra o grau de honestidade em que os suecos tem entre si, e que infelizmente tudo isso pode acabar com tantos imigrantes chegando. Não é o nosso caso, mas sabemos que muitos podem se aproveitar dessas situacões.

P.S. Hoje é o dia dos namorados em muitos países, mas na Suécia se comemora o Alla Hjärtans Dagen que não só os namorados comemoram, mas casais, amigos, família..ou seja, quem representa muito na sua vida.... Como o próprio nome diz, é o dia do coracão....

O Mambo

Após um longo período estou comecando a ler jornais em sueco.... lógico, nem tudo porque ainda não consigo. Mas um dos artigos que me chamou a atencão foi o Mambo.

Mambo é o termo usado para o jovem entre 20 e 27 anos que ainda mora com os pais mesmo tendo chegado na idade de alugar um apartamento e seguir a vida. Isso é muito comum aqui porque à partir de uma certa idade eles se tornam independentes financeiramente e vão morar sozinhos.

O que mais me chamou a atencão nesse artigo foi a demonstracao de quanto um Mambo custa para seus pais em termos de aluguel, tv, internet, alimentacao, etc., separados por valor de filho e filha. Todas as despesas são relacionadas para o caso de um filho ou de uma filha. Isso porque aqui a igualdade entre os sexos é tão exagerada que no meu ponto de vista acaba sendo absurda.

Como aqui tudo é muito caro, o porquê dele continuar morando com os pais e gerando despesas? O que parece é que isso comecou a ficar um pouco frequente.

A psicóloga aconselha o seguinte: a. o filho/a pagar todas as despesas referente a ele/a, pois assim ele/a saberá o quanto custa e dará valor no dinheiro e saberá quando se mudar. b. o filho/a fará todo o servico que se refere a ele/a mesmo/a, tipo lavar e passar suas próprias roupas, pois assim ficará claro que ele/a não mora em um hotel, mas sim em uma casa. c. Regras no tempo e na utilizacão de tudo o que é coletivo, telefone e internet por exemplo.

A cultura sueca é assim. O laco familiar existe mas não como na cultura brasileira. Um outro exemplo são as mães que acabam de ter filhos. Elas cuidarão da crianca sem a presenca constante da mãe ou da sogra no cuidado ou mesmo na educacão dos filhos. Um dos motivos é que elas estão trabalhando e cada um tem a sua vida e o seu dever.
